It feels insane how fast the past year has flown by! Just a year ago I was prepping for my first-ever NaNoWriMo, chomping at the bit to let the words flow. In less than a week, NaNoWriMo 2019 kicks off. That’s the next stage for making this book a reality!
A couple weeks ago I showed you my preparation plan—outlining, cutting out scenes, and storyboarding. I’m still working on some of it (mostly the outline). I’ve cut out quite a few scenes—in fact, I’ve cut out over 36,000 words carte blanche. The remainder requires heavy rewriting, which is my focus for this year’s 30-day writing challenge.
According to my plan, I’m spending an hour every morning just working on the rewrite. I don’t have a word count goal this year… I just want to make the story great.
Have you ever felt that anticipation build in your stomach before? Like it’s so exciting and you can barely contain that excitement.
I remember last year I was raring to go by the time November 1st hit. I’d gotten ahead on all my blog posts for Inspired Forward thanks to a 30-day challenge to write 1000 words a day. This year, I don’t have that luxury. I still need to write all those posts… On top of rewriting my book.
November certainly will have an interesting flavor this year!
